Loose Teeth Dental Care

Untreated Orthodontic Treatment Needs

Orthodontic treatments that have been delayed, avoided or incomplete can cause lateral (sideways) forces to operate against opposing teeth.

Rotations, tilting, abnormal positioning where incisal (biting) surfaces of opposing teeth are "matched" and even missing teeth can cause movements to occur, especially when biting or chewing.

Ortho patients who are recommended for permanent or removable retainers can also be at risk for certain teeth to loosen if retainer use is stopped. Some ortho patients often experience immediate tooth movements within 1 or 2 days of not wearing the retainer.
